#19: Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth - Bing Crosby & David Bowie
This one has to be one of the strangest duets in popular music. There are some rather interesting facts about this song, but this is what I find most interesting. It was recorded on September 11, 1977 after about an hour of rehearsal. Bing Crosby died on October 14, and the television special it was recorded for aired on November 30.
I don't particularly like "Little Drummer Boy" on its own, but adding Bowie's voice and the "Peace on Earth" lyrics make it one of my favorites.
Here's a link to the video of the special, including the dialogue before the song, which is pretty funny at times.
